Do new brakes cause some whining/noise while braking at low speeds?

I brought Wrigley in today for the annual oil/filter change. They ended up replacing my front brakes too which they just "did" while the car was in the shop....part of the maintence plan I guess. She's about 2.5 years old and has gone about 28,000 miles (yes, I don't drive a ton, thank goodness!). I had the work done this morning and then just did some local driving today. I noticed the brakes are whining (not that annoying high pitched squeal) when I slow to a stop. If I brake while driving faster, its fine but they whine when I am literally going a mile per hour till the stop. Brakes otherwise feel fine.

Its this because they are new? Anything I should worry about? I'm about to get on the road for Thanksgiving tomorrow so any input would be appreciated

New brakes need to be bedded in.
Usually take 500 miles or so.
There is also a product called Squeal Stop by CRC.
When ever you install new pads it is advisable to spray the back of brake pads to avoid noises.
You will probally be ok for the weekend but if noise persists, contact the dealer.
They don't always do the most professional job.
