I think I have that exact combo, the BBS RY and BFG KDW but in 17" running 205 45 17. I only ran them 1 day on the track this year. From all the tires and sizes I have used, I would say these are one of my least favorite combo.
I think in answering the OPs question, I think it may be more the tire than the size. I am not a fan of the BFGs. The 225 width would be good for turning and the track.
