Brake compatibility with 1st gen mini's?!

Ok so i'm looking to replace my rotors and pads on my 08 MCS. Are the JCW 294mm rotors from the first gen the same as the r56 mcs rotors? What about pads? Are the rear rotors and pads the same as the regular first gen MCS? Any help would be much appreciated.

Sorry could a mod either delete this or move it to the "Tire/Wheel/Brake" section....sorry i'm an idiot lol

Rear is the same. The front I know the rotors are the same but pads I am not sure I think they are different because they are different calipers.

this page for EBC Green from MOSS should show what's the same and what's not . . .

Get redstuff if you plan on any track time.

I don't

and the comment was not an endorsement of any pad, just a suitable reference as to which model/year/package used the same pads . . .

of course, since parts suppliers know the difference why worry about it? Contact a good supplier and tell them what you want!

GEN1 compatability issues existed for about 6 months in 07, when they were new. Now, you can get routine stuff in any decent parts chain.

Once unique, a MINI is pretty mainstream today. Now parts for the '79 however . . .

Well part of the reason I was asking is because I work at NAPA (paint and body not a parts guy) and the listings for the 07 and up MINI are all goofy. But for the 06 they list JCW drilled and slotted rotors for the front and drilled rotors for the rear. The JCW rotors fit great I already ordered those and in slapped em on the other day. The rear i'm waiting on...it's the pads i'm wondering about now.

I'm asssuming for the front pads if I get the JCW marked pads they should fit...and the rear shouldn't matter. I just can't bring myself to spend 130 dollars on front pads when I can get premium pads through work for 30 dollars with my discount. I'll just have to take the old ones off and bring em in to work and make sure they match up.

The front rotors only cost me 60 bucks for BOTH for drilled and slotted rotors. Those are the premium ones too, not the economy line.

So all in all if I can do everything through work, all the premium brake parts line, I will be spending less than 175 dollars for brakes front to back. Plus getting drilled and slotted rotors.

Where did you find rotors for that kind of price??
