Does the TPMS work on aftermarket rims?
Since the OP has a 2006, I'm fairly certain the TMPS is the old "indirect" type, where the computer just counts the tire revolutions to determine if a tire is going flat. As such, there are no sensors in the wheels, and no need to replace anything when changing wheels.
If the wheels will work with your car (brake clearance, body clearance, bolt pattern etcetera) they'll work with the TPMS.

Because your post was bad info.
TPMS sensors work fine in any aftermarket wheel. And if as suspected in this case, it's a pre-'07 car, then there aren't even any sensors present, the ABS system senses wheel speed as its method of determining that a tire is down on pressure. In either case - doesn't matter one whit if they are factory wheels or aftermarket.

Lighten up, Francis. Sheeesh.
Wow! Thanks guys. I learned something new today! I was wondering that SO much, why TireRack doesn't suggest adding a sensor to the wheel like it did for my mum's Audi's. Now I know why and that's because no sensors are needed. So every rim/tire combo I put on will me monitored by the ABS sensors. Cool :D
