Hi all,
I am going to buy some aftermarket wheels. I am opting for the 17's. What numbers should I look for?

4 X 100?
Offset?

I am looking at Volk SE37k. They are showing up with a size of 17 X 7.5 with a 48mm spacing.

Will these work?

Thanks a bunch
Carl

Carl,

Yep, they should work fine.

You want an offset of 40-48mm if you are going to lower the car at all with H-Sport springs, and 42-48mm if you are going to lower the car with H&R, Eibach, KW or coilovers. If you don't want to lower the car, ever, you can go all the way to a 37mm offset.

The stock offset is 48mm.

4x100 is the bolt pattern, and the hub is 56.1mm.

17x7 or 17x7.5 will be fine - we have tested a 17x7.5 with a 45mm offset using a 215/45-17 wihtout any issues on a very lowered car.

Hope that helps!

The wheels I'm putting on are 17x7.5 and it says they have an offset of +35 +43. Why the two numbers? Is it because you can order them with both offset amounts? One other consideration, besides the springs, what about if you're thinking about messing with the brakes (esp. a beefier caliper)? Do you need a bigger offset for those?

My Volk GT-C's are 17x7 43et. Maybe someone can clarify the tire clearances on a 7.5 wide rim. I agree it should work, but care is needed in tire selection. BTW, I run 205/45/17. I was told 215/45 would fit, but wanted a smaller "roll-out" near stock (outside tire diameter vs. speedo calibration). You may be able to go 225 series with t he 7.5 width, but height-wise... Open to clarification?

EFC,
Those are offsets available. +35 may be too much. Wheel offset has a little to do with brake clearances. The bigger importance is the wheel design. A wheel with spokes that buldge out, think "(", would fit bigger brakes more easily than a wheel with spokes like "l". You would have to contact the brake manufacturer for clearance specs and measure.

Thanks Randy.

Does anyone know if these come in Silver?

They should be. Contact your supplier for availability. Any of volk's colors are available. It might add price to the wheel, but not too much.
