Is there any market for the 16" run-flats if I sell 'em?
I haven't taken delivery of my car yet, but if I exchange the tires for all-seasons, as it gets pretty snowy here in NY, is there any market for the performance run-flats that will arrive with my car?
Or, would I be better off just keeping them. I assume it wouldn't be prudent keeping them on in the winter.

For those MINI owners in places that have snow, most choose to have one set of tires for snow and another set for performance or looks.
The runflats are not good for snow but they will work in good weather-not the best for handling either and somewhat rough riding.
All seasons would give overall better performance and smooth riding but don't have the safety and convenience of having runflats in an emergency.
Could you sell the runflats? Sure, mostly for the value of the rims or if someone really wanted to get runflats to avoid having to fix a flat in a bad neighborhood or in the dark on the freeway. You can drive them at 50 mph for about 80 miles.

I vote for you NOT to have all-seasons. The performance tires aren't great, but the all-seasons are just pointless. I highly recommend switching your order to the 16" Vspokes (or other 16 NON-S-LITE) wheels. Living in New York, you should get some nice performance tires for the summer and some gnarly snow tires for the winter.
As far as marketability goes, you will probably be able to sell them if they come in perfect condition. A lot of people are looking for spare tires and/or wheels for their MINIs. Just don't expect to get much more than $200-250 per wheel/tire combo...

Thanks for replies. But, living in NYC area, we don't get that much snow here. So, I'm thinking pure snows would be overkill.
Instead, wouldn't it make more sense (from an economic standpoint) to get some good all-seasons on my R83's for performance and comfort and sell the "performance run-flats" immediately when I take delivery of the MINI? I really don't want to buy another set of rims, unless you gurus think the R83's just absolutely suck.

Agreed. All Seasons will work fine if you aren't getting that much snow, but I am a recent convert to seasonal tires. You will get much better dry and wet performance from a true summer performance tire, and if you're concerned about "overkill" there are Pirelli (and other?) "performance" winter tires which should work well in the snow, but would be quieter and smooter on the highway than full on snows.
Choice is yours, and either way will work. Let us know what you end up deciding!
(And for the record, I like the V-spokes best as far as OEM wheels go, but the "5-points are fine!)
