Pics of 215/35 18's?

I just recieved my General UHP 215/35 18's from Tire rack, and wow, what a short sidewall!

Realizing it's hard to judge them by just the tire, (I haven't ordered the wheels yet, (see my other thread.....................please, I also need input there! ) does anybody have pics of these all mounted up and in the "real world"?

Thanks in advance!

Motor on!!

Here's a side shot of my Pirelli 215/35/18's. They indeed have a short side wall but without the tires mounted, they look even worse ! LOL !

 That looks almost exactly like my car, same tires except those are the M+S right I have the 220 treadwear ones, pretty much same ride height, aero kit too, clear corners though and different wheels! :eek2:

Do you really think your car looks almost like mine ? Close, but no cigar !

Thanks for all the replies guys, wow, it's a tad more dramatic than I thought.
I saw this size as an option to a 205/40 18 somewhere online, but after doing some more digging I see that the 215/35 is a bit smaller, diameter wise. (The 205/40 was an almost spot on replacement for factory) How much speedo error are you guys seeing?

The Gap

Post pics after lowered I bet It would look sweet. Eventhough 18's theres a Gaper of a gap

When I got my generals I thought the same thing... 35 is a small size. Lowest I'd ever had was a 225/40-18 on my previous car.
Here are my general 215/35-18:

I might just go with a 205/40/18 next time to add a little rubber between the pavement and my butt ! I do alright with my 35's on the Southern Cali roads but I suppose even with a 40 or even a 45 series tire you must keep a sharp eye out for the ruff stuff. I feel so much more at ease when I put my 16's on the car !

Minifiend Aug 6, 2008 09:17 AM

The ride quality got better when I switched to 40 series tires. It is still not great, but potholes in the road are definitely less harsh than with the 35's.

According to my gps the speedo is off by about 3-4mph (reads fast).

PGT Aug 8, 2008 11:15 AM

mine's that way even with stock size tires

Yokohama Parada Spec-2 in 215/35/18. Surprising (to me) they run smoother and quieter than my Falken RT-615 in 215/40/17. I can't tell you why other than the Falkens are noisy and the Yokos aren't...weird.

I had the same on my Motegi set and was quite please with ride Q (surprising I know)

Alpha Motoring, It looks like you've got the stretched tire thing going on ! Not my cup of tea but Kind of cool  . I've only seen the stretched look on car sitting on 15's. How wide or your wheels ? Do you have any pictures where we can see the profile of the tires ? You can't really see them very well in those shots.

 They aren't stretched! They are 18x7.5" on 215/35/18 Pirelli PZero Nero

I seen stretched stuff on all sorts of sizes since I'm in the VW/Euro scene and I'm very active in it too.

pauliekeys Aug 8, 2008 06:55 PM

Wow, they looked stretched in those pictures to me !

those wheels on Alpha's mini are fantastic! I love that look--it really compliments the car--very nice indeed.
Makes that other car (some steenkin Bimmer I guess) look like shite.

haha.
