Aftermarket Wheels / Bolts & Orig. Spare Question

Dear NAM;

Searched this forum but didn't find the exact answer I'm looking for.....

Basics: 2005 Mini R50, 15" Holies, non run flat Contis, std. donut spare

The Plan: Upgrading to Konig wheels w/ non run flat tires; per tire dealer, I have to install a std. stud / nut mounting

Questio: Will the std Mini donut spare work the stud / nut setup ?

Thanks in advance !

Spare tire should work with aftermarket wheel stud setup. Often nuts have a variety of styles from acorn to tapered to match the wheel being used.

Are you saying that the tire vendor is telling you that you cannot use the stock wheel bolts for the Konig wheels? You'll need wheel studs and nuts?

I'm not sure if that is true. Most times you can use the stock wheel bolts with aftermarket wheels.

Thanks for the reply...

Per dealer, the factory wheel bolt has a flat mounting surface on wheel, while aftermarket wheels have a chamfered mounting hole.....

uhhhh sounds like your dealer doesnt know what he's talking about. there is no doubt that your lug bolts are chamfered/cone seated
