What's wrong with the S Winders?

I've recently ordered my a MINI Cooper Clubman S and am going with the standard S Winder wheels. In many of the pictures that I've seen, as well as on the vehicles at the dealers, I don't see many of these wheels. What's everybody's reason for not getting these wheels. Is it just because they are the "standard" or do people not like their look? I quite like them, but I'm just wondering why I seem to be in the minority.

I don't like the S winder look, but I believe they are the lightest wheel from the factory so there's something to be said for that.

If you like them, that's all that matters for your car.

At the dealer, they probably 'upgrade' to the 17", as they sell for more.
If you like 'em, stick with 'em.
I'd pick up a set if I found one in white.

I have the S-winders and love them. I was on the fence at first between them and the bridge spokes. I'm happy with my choice, the S-winders are light and add a nice look to the car; rather than the plainer looking bridge spokes.

S-winders are good, nothing wrong with them. At about 16 lbs each, they are your best value and offer the best performance due to lighter weight vs the other 16" and larger wheels.

If I were to order a new MINI I'd be getting S-winders without a doubt.

It's good to see people saying something positive about the S Winders! I'm certainly happy with my order for them. Like Mataku said, they do look a bit different, which is probably why I'm a fan.

By the way, when did MINI stop offering white wheels? If I would've been buying a car four years ago, I definitely would've gotten a MCS with white wheels to match the white roof.

They haven't. You just need to have a white roof.

Huh, I guess they do. I haven't seen as many of them lately as I did when the MINIs were first out on the road, and I guess I've been spending most of my time in the Clubman part of the website.

Behold... S-winders on a Clubman. I liked them over the other stock options, but do plan on replacing them...

They look fine, but are pretty annoying when it comes time to clean them.

I just didn't like them, but I picked them because they're easy to sell :)
