There doesn't seem to be a direct fit for a 17" wheel. There are three sizes around it and I was wondering which was the safest fit.

205/50 - 17
205/40 - 17
215/45 - 17

Was thinking about the ASA EM-9 at 17x7 as the wheel.

Thanks

Tom

I have these tires on 16" SSR Comps. They are wonderful!

Thanks guys. Now I just need to decide finally if I want to go 16 or 17 on the wheels. There is a backorder on the 17" EM-9's til Aug. 29. My S just pulled into Southampton today so I'm expecting a mid-August delivery so it would cut it a little close. I was thinking the original 16" and all season run flats would have better resale if they were never used and you know the moment I get it I'm going to drive the hell out of it til it's broken in.

just replaced slites/dunlop run flats with Cenerline RPM rims with 215/40/17 SO3 tires- first impression- why did i wait so long. Ride is much less harsh (even with 215/40/17 and car handles like its on rails. unbelieveable difference. I'm so pleased!!

I did put the s03's on some ssr 16x7.5 and am stupified at the change. I liked the car before and now I love it. HUGE difference. The centerline where a pain to get so I just used alex at the tire rack and it was oh so easy. My post has the pics.

Will there be any "rubbing" issues with the 215/45/17 tire size using H-Sport springs? Thanks.

Just to add something. The S-03's get pretty noisy toward the end of thier life. I had Pilot Sports on my car and replaced them with S-03s. Overall, they were very similar in performance, though the S-03's were substantially cheaper. Just something to keep in mind...

on which wheels?

S03's are considerably wider than their rated widths... for instance
a 205/50 width measured out to about 225mm from sidewall to sidewall.

And yes, starting around 75% wear, they do become very noisy...but
so are Pilot Sports.

As far as noise goes, I think there's a direct correlation with noise and wear with directional tires, especially those with agressive tread patterns.

Thanks, Kenchan. I have S03s on my allroad and I'm happy w/ them.

Regarding the noise, I believe most of the "V" shaped patterned tires get noisy as they get towards the end of their life.
