i'm torn between getting either 15s with 195/55R15 Advan Neova tires or 16s with 205/50R16 or 205/45R16 Advan Neova tires (yes, i'm an Advan ***** ) for "spirited" driving. i'm considering getting the 15s because they're obviously the cheaper option. will the turn-in performance and overall grip differ with my two options? i only get to stretch my Mini's legs on tight canyon roads, and two circuits here (1 circuit that only has tight chicanes, and another circuit with more flowing turns) what to do, what to do?

Turn-in might not be as sharp with the taller sidewalls on the 15s, and the narrower tires might not grip as well.

Why not fit the wider 205s on the 15" wheels? The 15" option will be lighter, depending on the wheel, and allow a larger option of *wide* tires in the future, depending on offset.

The best option would be 205/shorter sidewall/15 in my opinion!

We used a 205/50R15 Falken RT-615 and Hankook Rs2 on our Mini. That size worked well for us.

I have 225/45/15 for the track and 215/40/16 for AutoX. Both are shorter overall for increased gearing, still get a stiff sidewall, and wide enough for good lateral grip. If you are going to have dedicated track wheels that is the best route to go.

i'm currently lowered on Eibach Pro-Kit springs and rear lower control arms in the rears. what's the widest tire i can use in 15s? sadly, the Advan Neova AD07 is only available in 195/55R15 here in my country. i've yet to find other tires that can match the performance of the AD07s

I would say 205 is the safest route. You may get problems trying to run 215 or even 225 in a lowered Mini.

As mensioned above 225/45/15 is a very effective size and there are no complications on width base clearance as the diamter of this size is less than 23 inches.
