I might wait for those, too. I e-mailed him and he said they'd be out this summer. The only problem is that I've read some people having issues with these wheels when moving to thicker rotors, like on the TSW BDM kit. I'm hoping that the combination of better wheels, brake ducts, and me braking properly will preclude me getting another brake kit.

I'd rather go with a 7.5 inch rim that doesn't need a spacer in the back, although people have reported good things about Team Dynamics 15x7 inchers, too.

For those not following all of the above comments, the added width of a wider rotor will come at the expense of spoke clearance. When you go from .81 to 1.00 rotors for example you must change the hat 'offset' or depth. This in turn places the outer friction surface closer to the wheel and the caliper body follows. You cannot move it inboard more or you will contact the LCA.

Well, so far I've had no problems at the Glen and I'm not using brake ducts, Fade free...

Or you could do what a friend suggested last year about brakes. "Don't use them, they only slow you down"!

Has anyone found a 15" wheel beside the Kosei's that clear the 11.75 wilwood kit without the use of a spacer? I would really like to get 15" wheels since there is a large selection of tires available but the amount of posts I have seen with Kosei's cracking scares me.

Team Dynamics Pro Race 1 or 1.2. I'm surprised by what you said. I find 15" tires hard to find. Don't be afraid to run spacers. I'm running a wider offset, 45 if I remember right + 5mm spacers. I get a pic when I get home.

I saw a post with pictures that pro race 1s fit and then someone said that 1.2s also fit but then posted the same photo of the 1s. 205/50/15s have a lot of tires available which is the size I was looking at. I don't have a problem running spacers but I would like them to be hub centric and I haven't found any small spacer that are. I have a ~3mm spacer now for my 18s that isn't hub centric and it is a pain trying to hold up a wheel and install the bolts.

I got hub centric H&R spacers and longer studs from Turner Motorsports. But, again, I find 15" tires are getting harder to find. But, I have a bronze set of 15" Pro Race 1.2s ordered from Team Dynamics for my Civic Si. So, well see what's available in tires.

So what wheels do you have on your mini in the 45 offset with a spacer?

Last time I checked Tirerack had 205/50/15 in the popular autox tires like the Dunlop direzza zII and high tread wear tires.

Oh sorry, I forgot to add that mine are 40 offset not 45.

Thanks for the pictures. I couldn't tell in the picture, do you have the wilwood 11.75 bbk on your car? Are those pro race 1s or 1.2s?

Why don't you look at 949racing's 6ul rims?

I ran those with a 5mm spacer - worked great. The first gen of the rims were a +34 offset, current gen are +36.

I will have to search for a picture unless there is one in my album. These were my autox rims...

What width wheel did you have? I would like to get a set of 949 wheels but they are never in stock an I thought you had to run a much larger spacer.

Are you positive that you have 7.5" wide wheels? I sent your picture to 949 and they told me that is there 1st gen 9" wheel.

That's a 1st generation 15x9 wheel from about 2007

Emilio Cervantes
949Racing.com

EDIT: I see your car under the 7.5" gallery on 949s website. There are convinced nothing under a 9" will fit I. A mini with these brakes but you made it work.

That's odd that Emilio says that..

And yes, I am more than confident that they are 7.5" rims. I still have them although not at my location.

Yup - that's my car on THIER website so even more odd that he said that. There is also another shot of me at an autox on my gallery on this site.

Sorry for the 2 year delay

I'm searching for the best look in 15' wheels for my R56 (not R53).
I'm in love with this look.
I don't like the rounded sidewall so I'm trying to find the best config in 15' to get the best look with the a flat sidewall.
I'm not thinking in upgrade brakes, I', running JCW 17' and the brakes are OK.

People say that the flat sidewall depends of the tyre brand.
I belive the flat tire sidewall depends of the tire/rim width ratio.

What's the wheel ifno for the picture above (rim and tire)?

Thanks

Thank your for your response and the info CynMini!

It seems I should be to lower the car to get that look (and lowering the car is not in my plans).
Really looks great and not like this 15x6 with 195/55 on the rear and 195/50 on the front like my test:

My actual JCW 17 on 215/45

It seems I will be fighting hard with my bumpy roads ...

Just was a test with friend's wheels (another car).
Actually running my JCW 17'

Looking for the best 16' rim (checking 16x7/8/9) with the best tyre size and thinking about upgrading the springs (nm, h&r, etc) for a softer driving.

It is not easy to get the JCW wheel with a 16' rim

Just got a set of Kosei K4R w/ Bridgestone RE-71R 205-50x15, 40mm ET and 7" wide. These fit nicely over the 11.75" Wilwoods.

But wheel gap is another thing...

Not to get off subject, but changing shocks might be your best bet for a better ride. Koni FSDs (best) or Bilstein B4s (less expensive) are a good bet. More here:https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...fsd-vs-b4.html

Thank you for your advice and link Eddie07S.
Now, with new Rays Volk 16x8 on the car I'm fighting with rubbing issues:

will it fit konig dial-in and 949 6UL 15x7?

I want to expand my choice of track tires. I am willing to ditch my Wilwood 12.18" BBK and replace it with the 11.75". Will it fit 15x7 Konig Dial-in (35mm ET) and 949 Racing 15x7 6UL? Konig ET is 35mm while 6UL is 36mm.

I measured the Konig Dial-in wheel against the clearance diagram and it suggests will not fit or extremely tight.

Above, Sdriver says that the 949RACINGs fit over the 11.75 Wilwoods. I run Kosei 15” wheels with the 11.75 Wilwoods. The ID of the wheel comes very close to the brake calipers. It is close enough that the wheel weights don’t fit and I have marked the wheels so the shop knows not to put weights there. The other thing I have found is that the smaller dia wheels trap heat and the brakes run hotter.
