To make it truly a valuable tool for the entire community please add your wheels.

Link to display of last 100 additions

Link to Search Tool

Link to Instructions

You do have to be registered to add wheel info but you not need to be registered to view or search.

With a little help we can all make this a very useful tool for all.

Thanks
This is a great thread on NAM, but with ~300 pages it has become unwieldy for searching. Let's do a service to ourselves and future MINI owners by adding our info the Gnatster's data base!

Get the wheels road force balanced. Not all places use a road force balancer, but I always get it and I've never had vibration issues.

Poor balancing, wheel(s) are bent, or tire(s) are out of round.

Only thing to add on top of the other suggestions was to ask if you got spacer's with the new wheels

When I was 'in the hunt' for new wheels someone shared with me that cheaper brands of spacers are not milled as finely as others causing vibrtation

I think you mean hub centric rings.......spacers are totally different.

How tight should the hub centrics fit?

Hubcentric Rings

They should be very snug. I had to have mine replaced because the tire shop gave me the incorrect size and I had the same issue as you are describing. The original hubcentric rings were sloppy and my correct size rings "snap" into place.

new shoes

I finally got new rims. I got Kumho XS (KU36) and TSW Donington 17x7 rims. I have not taken any specific pictures but had some taken at the autocross on the weekend.

I have hub-centric rings for my OZ Alleggerita. They are made of aluminum and the fit is snug.

I think that is the problem...the hub centrics do not fit tight.
Going back to the shop tomorrow so they can have a look at them.
Thanks for the info everyone.

Holy crap. It took three days, but I got through the entire thread. And I didn't even read all the posts (just skimmed for pictures)

Some really great setups out there. Thanks for making my decision infinitely more difficult

Just as soon as you got it figured another set of wheels or another tire review comes across your browser.

While it's still only just getting started up Gnatster has wheel database over on Motoring Alliance you might want to check out

Is that the paid membership section of the forum? What sort of info is in the database?

FREE!!!

All kinds of info. Everything from model and color to wheel and tire brand, type, offset, weight, spacer or studs used, BBK notes and images of the wheels on MINI.

It is small now, but the more people that contrinute the better it will be. Even if the wheel is in there already no two MINI's are the same so add yours in too please, OEM as well!!.

Tenzo Type-M ?

Anyone have these?
I've been looking for a black rim, I like the Tenzo M type but could only find it with a sliver or red lip until I recently found them in all black. I'd love to see them on Mini.

Why yes...that wonderful, if I say so myself, WheelFinder app I wrote happens to have an entry.

Just go to the WheelFinder and search the Wheel Brand Name of Tenzo

If you can bear with the red lip, there's a set for sale in the marketplace... $700 I believe for a set of 18's...I'd buy them, but they're too big for my tastes right now...

Can you buy pinstrip decals for rims? I've got them on my motorcycle but didn't know you could get them for cars as well.

Very nice gnatster. Lots of work involved I'm sure. Unfortunately, you've only scratched the surface so far.....
