Alex: Summer Tire Suggestion? Anyone?

Alex. What would you recommend for new summer tires?

I have the stock sport package suspension with 17 inch Web Spokes.
I like the crisp feeling of the Run Flats and I don't mind how stiff they are.
I would like something that grips better than the run flats but the steerng response is the most important. I don't want a tire that feels mushy.

A tire that would work on the occassional track day would be nice as well but I don't see myself going to the track more than twice a year.

Thanks

Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3.

The sidewall is a bit on the soft side of the high performance tires, but it's not that bad. As long as they are worn down a bit before you go the the track, they'll work just fine. If you run them hard when new, they will chunk.

FYI.
I sent Alex an e-mail and he recommended the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 and
Michelin Pilot Exalto 2 in 215/45-17.

I'm running Dunlop Sport Maxx 205/45-17s and I love 'em. Nice ride, grippy, quiet, look good.

Not to derail the thread, but will there be more 16" sizes for the RE01-R?

how do the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's measure up compared to the Kumho Ecsta MX? I was considering the Kumho's as my primary choice but now that I see all these favorable Goodyear reviews I'm second guessing myself!

The RE01 R looks like a great choice but it's a bit more than I'd like to spend.

S03's but they're not available any more, i don't think so 050PP's for sure.

thats wat im getting next on my G when my S03's are worn out.

GS-D3's are good too, but the sidewall is considerably softer so depends
on wat you want. on my MCS i run GS-D3's to get more straightline
stability. car's too nimble imho so wanted the softer sidewall. it's a nice
balance.
