Anyone paint their S-Lites to match their car?

I have the white ones, and love it with my car, but hate having to clean them every other day. A friend will give me his silver S-lites, but I have no idea what an Indi Blue with white top would look like with the silver wheels. So, I am thinking of getting my S-Lites painted Indi Blue to match my car. Anyone else done this? Pics? Anyone have an Indi Blue or similar with the silver S-Lites?

Or consider changing your brake pads to something that doesn't dust as badly as the OEM pads do.

I haven't seen IB wheels, but as ohs68 said, swapping brake pads is far easier and cheaper. I really like the look of the white wheels with the IB/W.
I have seen them powder coated black, but that definitely wouldn't go.

In my mind's eye I picture wheels matching the car color as kinda cheesy looking but since I have never seen it done I guess I would have to reserve final judgement til I saw it in person. I too recommend trying out a low dusting pad. I have Hawk HPS pads & they barely dust at all

I've always thought that painting the entire wheel to match the body colour might be a little much, unless the car were white or black - it kind of reminds me of the "monochrome" look from the 80's, where entire cars were painted the same colour, including the wheels, bumpers, grilles, and door handles. I never cared for that look, even when it was new. To me, it looked like the car was just dipped in a vat of paint. I like a little more contrast between the various design elements in the car.

I *do* like the old Mercedes hubcaps where there was a body-coloured center cap with the Mercedes logo, though, and I'll admit I've been tempted to paint the inner section of my Web-Spokes the same colour as the body, leaving the outer rim in silver.

It's just that I bought the car used, and the person who had it before did not take good care of the wheels, so there is slight discolorations I can't get off. So, even when I clean them really well, there are still a few spots that are black, and cleaning them every other day is getting a chore. Swapping out brake pads is a great idea, I just wonder how much work I will still have to do to keep them clean. Also, any ideas on cleaner to use on trying to clean the set-in spots?

As I recall, someone had an EB with EB wheels at the Dragon. I would not have thought that it would have looked good, but I was surprised how good it did look.

Yeah, that was BLUCOOPR from M2C2 in Charlotte, where I am from, and he gave me the idea. It does look good on his, and I wouldn't have thought of it....

I think the painted webspokes look great.
I think the machined lip helps to offer some relief in color.
R90s done like this would be fantastic.

Anthracite and black rims with machined lip offer the same sort of contrast with a more neutral tone to match many finishes.

So you could paint your S-lytes:
Body color but it would be tough to get the machined lip unless you added that.
Choose a neutral color that doesn't show dust like dark silver (and paint your roof or side mirrors to match)
Choose a traditional color like anthracite (also hides dust)

Of you could chrome the S-lytes for about $100 each but it does add up to 3 pounds each and you still have to take care of the wheels and keep the dust off of them.

In the end, change to less dusty brake pads- Mintex redbox, EBC greens or Hawk Ceramic pads.

Don't mind the dent-

Yes, I would love to do R90's like that

Would look just as good as those BBS LM's that someone here color matched.

I'm using Akebono ceramic pads on my Taurus SHO they are as close to dustless as anything I've ever used. In comparison, the wheels on the wife's MINI get dusty backing out of the driveway!
