caliper painting
Anybody ever use the brake caliper paint kit? I ditched my s-anchors today and got a set of kazera KZAs 17x7.5 w/ Kumho ECSTA ASTs .
The new wheel is a fivespoke and really open. I want to paint my brake calipers, but was wondering: Should I actually remove the calipers? Can I mask well enough? I assume I need to remove the retaining springs, but the directions are unclear.
Anyone out there ever done this?
Thanks!

Can be found at most auto parts stores for around $20. It's a brush on paint, so up to you on if you want to remove them. Like others said, I've seen it both ways.

Yep - G2 is available in blue and several other colors.
Hint - you can custom mix your own shades of G2 by purchasing two or more kits and PATIENTLY mixing small amounts of the paint until you get the shade you're after - then add hardener and paint. Pricey to do this, but makes your car you-nique.

That's what I did. I mixed the Dupli-Color Blue and Black paints to get a Denim Blue look
It was kind of a pain but not too bad. The pic could be better but hopefully you'll get the idea

Another thing to watch out for is applying too much paint. BE PATIENT and let one light coat dry fully before applying the next

I LOVE this forum! I was wondering about getting all 4 wheels in the air at once... I can do that! I just wasn't sure about what was under that moulding between the jack points.
My calipers are pretty dirty. I bought a set of stainless, brass and nylon brushes (much like you might find in a gun shop). I think they will need it.
Of course the difficult part now is deciding which couple of days I'm not going to have the car. I guess my motorcycle will have to do!
Thanks again...
