MINIac in search of Google Glass

MINIac in search of Google Glass
After letting this sit on the THMMC site for a few days, gonna cast the net a little bit wider.
I have no idea whether crowd funding will work for this, but gonna give it a try. I've got an invite to the Google Glass Explorer program and need to come up with the funds to buy a pair. To my knowledge we don't have anyone in the Tar Heel MINI club with a pair and I haven't seen any at the events I've attended. I really haven't seen anyone with other MINI clubs with any either.
Anyone here on NAM have Google Glass yet? I'd be surprised if I were the first, but I've read there are only about 60,000 in the hands of Explorers.
Would love to be able to incorporate these into my recaps of MINI events.
Hope you'll consider helping out.

Jeff, I think Google Glass is neat but I find the technology intrusive and potentially dangerous for drivers. Since most of what it does can be done by smartphone or other cameras, I can't justify the price. I certainly can't help someone else buy the thing and looking at the response you've got so far, others can't either. Good luck.

I'd disagree that Glass is any more intrusive or distracting than any other technology out there. Then again, I'm probably one of the few drivers out there who is able to resist the temptation to make inappropriate use of all that tech when driving (much to the chagrin of my wife who can never reach me on the phone when I'm commuting).
But thanks for sharing your unwillingness to help out.
