Tranny swap 05 into 03

Looking for a little help, I have found a trany for my 2003 mini but it is out of a 2005 mini, both are 5 speed manual, will it fit right in or are there other differences?
Thanks

from what i gather, you have a gs5-65 tranny, where as after 7/04 they went to the gs-52bg tranny. mounts, clutch slave and lines, shifter cables, blah blah blah iirc are different....it would be a major undertaking if your not familiar with this type of work

Hmmmm, I haven't done the switch yet, but I have that same combo and I don't see that any of the above is true. As I said, I have not done the switch, but as far as I can see all is identical.

Big difference.

The Cooper S Getrag swaps from the late to the early no problem, but your Cooper, as stated above, uses a different box altogether. With a lot of fabrication, it can be done, but it is not a direct swap.

Hope that helps!
Randy
