I'm friggin angry
A few of you know I had my car corner balanced about 10 days ago. I was annoyed by the fact that the spring perches, not height adjustments, were used to corner balance my car - the Megans posses height adjustment sleeves - spring rates remain the same left to right if the height adjustment is used.
After one track day - and I was fighting the car - and about 600 miles of driving on roads I am very familiar with I took the car to the alignment shop I've used forever. Front camber was what I asked for, close to 2 degrees negative. Front toe is so toed in it's off the scale. Rear toe is exactly 1/16" in - what I asked for. Rear camber is just a hair over 3 degrees negative. No wonder I'm fighting with this car, it won't turn-in any where. On the positive side, I can drive at 130mph with my hands off the steering wheel. This is the third bad corner balancing job. Back to square one; I'm re-setting everything and just getting an alignment. I'm too trusting...my howdy doody face doesn't help. |
Many (many) years ago we used to set the toe-in with a broomstick, and we got closer than that.

...in a galaxy far, far away I bet...

the more adjustments you have, the more screw ups there will be...
unfortunately. most alignment shops out here will actually screw up your alignment more than fix it if it's only slighty off. |
On the positive side, I can drive at 130mph with my hands off the steering wheel. Hope you get everything worked out. |
