Some pics and vids of Hsport Suspension

Hey all, just thought i'd share some pics/vids from the last auto-x (before the rain came ).

I drive the #17 Mini Cooper S. We have an hsport suspension, borbet 15" wheels with Kuhmo Rcomps, Schroth harness, Porterfield pads/ATE SB/SS Lines/Drilled Rotors, and some guages in the cockpit. The engine is all stock. As of the end of last season we were running times at the top of the class, AA, by a fairly large margin and we hope to do the same this coming season.

I would like to invite any of you in the area to come check it out and give your driving skills a test. It's $40 and held in Marina, by Monterey. The next one is on March 12th so get pre-registered!

If you aren't in the SF area give your local chapter a call and see when they will be having one. They are a BLAST!

Check out the BMW CCA GoldenGateChapter (GGC) website to read more! www.ggcbmwcca.org

Come to the CarControlClinic and I might be your instructor  I would also be more than happy to help you out at the auto-x. I will ride along and give you tips as long as it doesnt interfer with my runs

For everyone that cant load the vids, please try them in WindowsMediaPlayer. They work in WMP for me but not quicktime.

"The specified module could not be found."

It worked for me on VLC and MPlayer. Try re-encoding using a different codec like MPEG-4 or Sorenson.

no reason to be timid about first time auto-x; most venues will let you take instructor accompanied runs, with either of you driving. the only real competition is with yourself; you will be begging for more.

Well if you must pry

http://bmw-autox.com/results/event6.html

Check the AA class. My name is Matthew Knoot and you can see my father who beat my time by a mere tenth but notice that were are both 2 full seconds above the next fastest time. Hehe, if you look at the AAA times we would have won that class as well had we been competing in it

Also you can see the FTD (Fast time of the Day) was set by Vic Sias in that yellow M3

I take the headrest off because when my helmet rests on it it makes me look at a downward angle and it makes it very hard to see coming turns and look far forward (essential to auto-x).

It doesnt make it much harder to drive because I have a Schroth 4pt harness so I'm pretty well secured.
