F56 Suspension options
We might as well make a thread showing the different suspension options we have and what they look like after being installed.

Don't forget NM Engineering springs. I'm running their pre-production set and love them. Going to install the production fronts this weekend.

Nice thread!
I would like to see the Eibach-springs, if anyone has them on? |
VicSkimmr, is only lowering springs "ok" for normal use with spirited driving? Or do yo recomend me to buy coilovers?
I am only after the looks, the handling I like stock (I have sport suspension). |

Has anyone gotten figures on spring rates on any of the sets being offered? Of course, we'd need to know the stock rates for standard and sports suspension to compare them to... I bet NM has the info, but I've been too lazy to call. And then I wonder how that compares to Eibach and H&R...
The point is- I like how my SS rides, but just want to go a little lower. I could go a tad stiffer I suppose. Ideas welcome, until I get around to calling NM. |
OP, the Vogtland springs are up on fleabay now if you wanted to add them to the roster.
I'm still waiting to see what H&R and Bilstein offer coilover wise before making any decisions. |

From the LA Auto show- JCW accessories on display. The car is totally slammed! Looked awesome, but I'm pretty sure this is gonna be a case of "production model may differ." On the wall they had the coilover kit on display, with the springs mounted on the strut body, which confused me because under this car the spring was on the arm, same as factory. So... who knows. But thought you guys might like to see anyway.

Looks as though ST Suspensions (made by KW) has released their ST-X, ST-XA, and ST-XTA coilovers for our car. Those coilovers fall right in line with the KW V1, V2, and V3. There are a few differences from their more expensive KW brothers but are excellent quality for the money.
The XTA comes with adjustable top mounts for camber "when possible" which would make them more like the KW clubsports, however, I haven't been able to determine if they do yet. |

Hello there....
I was wondering if you ever installed the NM springs? If so, do you have any negative camber? Did you keep your stock shocks? Thanks for any info. Cheers! |

I've had the nm springs for a few months. Great springs. Camber in the front didn't go anywhere, rear less than half a degree. But, I run 18x8 et45 with 225's so i had to max out the camber in the rear to stop from rubbing.
Installed on stock shocks. Rides great. Definitely would recommend them to anyone looking for springs, any Jerry at NM is an awesome guy. CJ |
We got an F56 coming in the next couple weeks for a set of KW V2s
http://www.waymotorworks.com/kw-vari...overs-f56.html will post pics when we are done |
Thanks for the info, I appreciate it.
Is the drop more in the front than the rear? I know NM says Front: 33mm (1.30") Rear: 31mm (1.22") Do you find that to be pretty accurate? Thanks again! |
Also, if anyone has pictures of their MCS with the NM springs and would be willing to post on here, that would be awesome! Cheers!
|
NM's measurements are correct. Though, if you're looking at wheel gap, that's different as the front fenders are a little higher than the rear in stock form.
Due to this, the fender gap on the rear with the NM's is spot on perfect. The front has a slightly bigger gap (maybe 1/4" max) as NM couldn't go any lower without compromising. I know this as I spoke to Jerry extensively and was even running his preproduction set. Overall, still a great setup. |

Are there any camber plates in the works? I checked with ST on their ST-XTA coilovers and they do not include adjustable top mounts unfortunately.
|
also, H&R has coilovers on ebay Germany now. Looks like they are part number: 4048419266927
