Vorshlag plate fitment
 

Just installed some Vorshlag plates on my r53 with TX Speedworks springs. I had IE adjustable plates up until this point. I set the adjustment wholes just like the IE, thinking it would give me the same access for adjustment. Is this not the case? Looking at them now from the top it looks like I may need to cut the top of the strut mount to get access. Or, do I need to just switch which holes the bolts go into?

Switching bolt holes is all you need to do.

Anyone mind taking a quick picture to show me which you used? I am having a hard time visualizing it making a difference as I look over the car.

This topic has come up a few times. I gather some do as stated above and switch up bolt holes. Not sure how it makes them more accessible.
When I install any camber plates I like to open up the access so I or whoever is using them never runs into any adjusting hassles. Easy to do and worth it I think. It also eliminates the need for that spacer plate that comes with them thus giving that much more travel and adjustability on the strut

How hard is that metal? Is that something I should be able to open up with a dremel?

yea, though a Dremel is a small tool for the job, you can do it with that. Just by a bunch of there larger cut off discs. You will go through a lot of them I think.

Cutting the hole out certainly makes it easier -
but not completely necessary -

If you use the out most bolt holes and adjust with a ball end hex you can make complete adjustments without cutting.

Wow...how much camber are you running? That looks to be well over 3 degrees. Looks to be maxed out to negative camber. ???
Yea, I can see that you can just reach those bolts at that camber, but that is way too much

I think it must be the camera angle - cause its about 1.75 degrees.

But it will be checked soon as we just made some changes.

Just a note on these plates. I think they advertise a max of -3 degrees, on my MINI it isn't gonna happen. I guess all MINIs aren't created equal. On the Drivers side, the max we could get was -2.7.

Yes, I agree that it's hard to get camber in these cars. What's stopping you, the adjustment in the plate or the spring and perch hitting the inside of the tower? For a car that you are serious about tracking you really need to take a hammer to that tower. You also need to be using 2.25" springs.
Curious. How are you guys getting your camber measurements?

If you cut it do like Onasled and leave as much material as you can. I don't like cutting them, but it makes it ALOT easier to adjust.

On my '06 on the driver's side I can only get -1.9 with the max adjustment on the TSW/Vorschlag plate. The passenger side looks like it can hit -3 easy.

Any ideas on how to get more on Driver's side? I am looking to get to -2.3.

For those of you that run these.... how are they for ride harshness? I run fixed plates and like them but thought adjustable might give me a little room to play if I ever wanted to. Do these click or anything odd like that?

When did you get your TSW springs? The earlier springs where the same diameter as the stock springs and that is what hits the body. The new TSW springs are smaller diameter so you have more room between the spring and body.
