I'm in trouble :-) (not really)
Well, I am pleased to announce I just got engaged (YAY, HOORAY) and as a fun gift, my buddy who works at a dealership near me, let me take out a lotus they took on trade for a day.
WOW!!! Suspension and drive feel wise, that was just WOW!!! well between paying for the wedding and other life expenses I had to say no (btw, if any one in Norcal wants a sweet deal on an 05 lotus with only 6k on the clock!!!! PM me) now I need to do some serious suspension work. but budget minded. I've done a lot of reading on here, and just wanted some opinions, and honestly I'm also just telling everyone that I had a crazy day in a lotus. I don't track the car (yet) and really won't be needing adjustability. just want a nice stiff ride that feels (And is) connected, also get rid of some body roll. ok, have at it. I'm ready... |
get yourself a rear sway bar and some stickier tires.
|
Before we got the Cross coilovers, we used to have Koni FSD's and TSW springs and the car really handled well on and off the track.
|
To get anywhere near the handling of a Lotus, add lightness.
Gut the car and get carbon fiber bodywork. |
shedding weight is always an easy plus. again wedding in mind, I dropped 30lbs off the driver :-)
batrugger do you have any pictures of the car on that set up? hell if you still have that set up we may talk deal on used parts :-) |
Budget minded: 19m rear sway bar and Koni Sport (w/ springs) Suspension (Yellows) Here is these for $779 and FREE SHIPPING http://www.rsaperformance.com/kospsukitmic.html
Oh and some Kumho XS or Dunlop Star Specs will help. |
