YES

glnr13 07-12-2008 12:34 PM

i think rally's is/was lower especially since he was on 15" wheels, i cant find a good shot of it right now

checkmate2006 07-12-2008 01:14 PM

Yeah he was the lowest especially since he went with a smaller diameter wheel along with stretched tires gave him even lower stance.

amg6975 07-12-2008 05:54 PM

Since we're only counting the rear of Kal's I think we need to count the rear of Rally's new jump-off. (Despite not being as slammed as it will be)

If you guys really want to get the crown of "most slammed", you need to measure exactly how low the car is.

Measure from level ground to the bottom lip of the wheel arch apex. Example is: stock '02 MCS sits at 25.6" front and 25.5" rear.

Here's my MINI: Riding at 22.8" front and 22.6" rear:
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...67/848side.jpg

Mine doesn't look slammed because, just like Rally, I'm running small diameter tires [22.5"]. Kalbone's still looks lower in the rear; is he running springs? LOL

Rally@StanceDesign 07-12-2008 08:31 PM

Yah....my airride is installed:eek::grin: . I'll grab some measurements tomorrow. It'll be lower once I install the 205/40/16 tires but I compared my rear bumper measurements to PGT's.....a few inches lower than his car:thumbsup:. As it sits now, my car is 4" lower than it was stock. With the 205/40/16's it will be 4.7" lower than stock.

Once it's fully up and running I'm gonna look at shortening the struts a bit more to see if I can get the bumper and skirts on the ground. It's by no means a finished project....I'm slowly working out all the kinks involved with developing your own suspension from "scratch":impatient:

Kal tucked like crazy since he was rocking 18's...but both my old car and konky's measured out to be lower than Kal's. Mainly because of wheel/tire diameter though. Kal's ride is definitely slammed though:eek::thumbsup: He knows i love it:nod:

My old ride which also rocked the 'slammed' stance. Never got around to measuring the arches, but there was next to no room under the lip. Had to remove the underside lip because it was on the ground while parked.

how does the air ride work on the mini?
seems like such a small vehicle would bounce around like crazy. Does it still have as good handling for agressive turns? or does it become more of a cruising vehicle?
Also, any problems with trimming the inside of the flares? did you have to make any new attachment points/
sorry for all the questions, but this is the first air ride mini ive heard of so im curious.

Bang110 07-12-2008 10:00 PM

Air ride doesn't bounce. I had a 1996 Dodge Dakota that I put full air suspension in. As long as you still have a shock of some sort your ok. It rode like a Cadillac. I measured my truck once after I was finished with it and I lowered it more than 13 inches from stock.

While I think the slammed Mini's look cool and I appreciate all the work thats involved, I am still a believer that only trucks should sport bags. Cars like a honda and Mini are more suited for performance. But I do think your cars look rad all slammed down like that. I would love to see the work on person.

Still handles and rides great. They handle much like my coilovers but with a much more comfortable ride. Airride is basically like having adjustable spring rates so you've gotta find the proper pressure to get the handling you want.

I did lots of trimming and pounding on some metal:lol: It's certainly not a simple bolt-on

EDIT: went out and measured. On stock wheels my rear on the clubman is 22.1". With the smaller tire diameter that should set them around 21.4". I'm not sure what the stock heights for the r55/56 are or how they compare to the r50/53

The added space of the clubman was a great option for me as I am usually moving my art and art supplies for sculpture and painting which can often be a bit too big for the regular Coupe. I'm sure I'll be able to make the clubman look just as hot....I've got a set of even wider BBS's waiting to go on already:wink::thumbsup:

I gotta say it goes to rally since I've seen a pic a while back of his front lip barely off the ground.

cartar452 07-13-2008 10:25 PM

I'm at about two inches clearance in the front now, the rear might be coming down a bit tomorrow when everything gets aligned and balanced out...
