Suspension What's the deal with camber plates and "noise"?
That is the rubber bearing for the top strut mount. I ripped mine so that is one reason I changed to adj camber plates because they replace the rubber bearing with a metal bearing. From the other posts, it appears that the IE fixed plates have a stronger rubber bearing (from BMW Z4) so that might also solve your problem.
Yes that is the rubber bearing mount. The ones from Ireland use the bushing from the BMW Z4 and I have not heard of any failures. The Z4 weighs a lot more than a MINI so it is over kill in respect. By keeping the rubber mount you do not get any additional NVH as you would with some of the adjustables. To be honest I think my NVH actually got better after I installed these.

Also the plate that it is made of is very sturdy. It is not a piece of stamped sheet metal like the oem strut top.
Here is a picture that someone posted showing the differences between the two, IE fixed vs oem.

I'm on my setup for 6 weeks now and very happy with how the car is handling,my question here is about the IE adjustable camber plates, they are a bit more noisy now than when new,i've sprayed oil into them but dont seem to help much if at all, when on rough road they sound like somewone is ringing a tea bell otherwise car is fine what could this be or is there a fix, could this be the installer has'nt cranked the nut down on the strut shaft properly,i'll bet he used an air tool and not the combo of an Allen wrench and socket,Anyone have any ideas? Thanks
