I got my Koni's and Eibach's through http://www.shox.com/. They were local, so I picked them up from their warehouse. They had great prices.

Whatever you buy, I'd suggest shocks and springs from the same maker - parts that were designed to be used together for a specific vehicle. Bilstein's kit, Koni's yellow sport kit or JCW or coilovers if you want to go that route. It all depends what your objectives are for the car - street, autocross, track - where you live and the kinds of road conditions that you expect to encounter on a daily basis.

Way Motor Works and Moss MINI are good suppliers in my experience. I steer clear of MINI Works - my experiences were less than positive. For JCW, Morristown MINI has great prices and service, in my experience.

You might want to check out tirerack.com also. Outmotoring has a stellar reputation on this board btw.

+1 I've seen all their stuff, I am a beta tester for the coilovers. All I can say is these guys KNOW suspension.

Coilovers are now Dragon and Track tested....

Full write up to come soon.

i'll throw out another alternative....BC Racing coilovers available from Minspeed.....my friend LgEnf completed his first track weekend w/ these this weekend. he ran very well w/ them. front camber plates are included w/ this system and the price is right. i used to be able to run away and hide....not anymore. i'll invite his comments here.

my main question is:

Do you need camber plates for street use? OR if I do one track day, and one or 2 autocrosses a year?

you don't "need" camber plates. however, i destroyed a nice set of street tires in one track weekend. you don't need to go aggressisve w/ camber settings, just because you can. a little additional camber will make a street driven MINI handle better without undo tire wear.
