This will be my first full year with the mini and am looking to run STX, not to be competitive. This is my daily driver but does not see alot of miles. I have put under 4000 miles in the past 9 months. I am looking at a 16x7 rota with a 40mm offset and am seriously considering the Hankook z212 in a 225/45-16. I do under stand the 7" rim width could be an issue, but how big of an issue I do not know. The real question is rubbing/clearance issues with aftermarket springs such as H&R or HSport. Any feed back would be appreciated.

 

The z212's, while good tires, have soft sidewalls and lots of void area. A better choice all around would be the Azenis in a 215/45/16. The z212's, in a 225/45/15, proved to be at least .5 sec. slower (and that was shaved) than my Azenis 205/50/15's on 15x7.5 SSR's and a narrower rim would have made the problem worse.
