Need auto-x tire info
Hi, I am getting ready for an Auto-X event @ candlestick and don't want to run my Bridgestone Potenza S-03's cause of the rough asphalt. I have another set of Ro_Ja LT5's 17x7's and want to throw on some cheap tires that will perform well. Does anyone have a suggestion or now of that one website where you can purchased used tires from track cars?? I hope I'm posting in the right section and am supplying all the needed info!!! Please let me know. Thanks in advance.

I have exactly what you need. I have 4 Kumho MX 215/45/17 tires that I have used for a few autocross events and street use. the 2 front tires have approximately 30-40% tread with the outside edge worn a bit from lack of camber. The rears have 70-75% tread and would be perfect to use as your fronts. For autocross, I ran them at 53psi front and 58-60 psi rear to protect the outside edge on the fronts as much as possible and also to inhibit proper rotation on the rears. I Paxed 6th out of 135 or so on both local events on these street tires with a GS pax, so, thats a good indication of their potential, they are probably the best 17" tire for autocross.
I'll take $175 plus shipping for the set. I paid $525 or so for the set back in February.

Good grief!
Lagston, am I to understand that you have the most coveted street/race tires on the market, and you don't want to use them for AutoX?
My understanding is that the S-03 is the ideal AutoX tire. Personally, I would not put used tires on my car for a performance event. But that's just me.
