It has been a long time since I have updated this. Here is what has happened in the last few months of 2017.

I had my best PAX finish ever in October. I was sitting in 2nd after the morning session was done. Rain started just before my heat in the afternoon so I wasn't able to improve my time but I only dropped a few places in the overall PAX standings.

My fast run:
Standing water + 200 run tires doesn't really work. Here are the wettest runs from my wife and I:
My wife did a sweet drift on one of her dry runs:
My buddy spun his Fiat 500 ABarth on nearly every run so I stole some top gear narration for his highlight video:

The season end event was combined with the Jacksonville Solo group at The FIRM. They put a few cones out on the race track. I don't have a lot of practice with high speed sweepers and it showed in my driving.

My fast run:

Danielle managed to spin in the exact spot where I spun here this spring:

I won the STX class championship for the local region. I got 8 class wins and several 2nd place finishes. Danielle finished 4th in points.

2018 should be a good year with 245 section front tires, an evo school, a match tour and a champ tour in the first few months.

Lots of poke

The front wheels are Avanti Storm 15x9s with a 15mm spacer. I bought 4 wheels with tires from a STR Miata driver that switched to 17" wheels. They have a little more brake clearance room than the 949 6uls that I was running before. The 949 wheels needed a 20mm spacer to fit the front brakes.

I am running on concrete for the first time on the new wheels next weekend. I ran them a few weeks ago on an asphalt site known for being low grip.

There is a big sweeper about half way through where I was expecting it to rub but it did fine. I am going to bring some backup wheels to the concrete event just in case.

I am running 245s on a 15x9 in the front and 225 on a 15x8 in the rear. No spacer on the rear on a +36 offset wheel. It just about touches the trailing arm and the plastic inner fender but doesn't rub.

Ugh I'd love to trade my 215s on 7" for 245s on 9" but that Street Class life is rough. Car looks so cool on those wide 15s.

I went to a wet autocross during Tropical Storm Alberto and managed to find the limit of grip.

West course:

I have a ways to go before I get to the trophies but it was a great experience.
