R53 and the road from dstock to stx

I think I'm going to move to STX next year, this year I'm on worn out shocks so i have a decision to make.

Continue to run worn out shocks until next year when I can move to coilovers with camber plates OR buy some koni sport adjustable and add some swift or HR springs/camberplates next year, Dstock allows shock changes with up to 2 adjustments but does NOT allow spring changes or camber plates.

anyone done both routes?

The car is only used for autocross & track, obviously shocks now and springs next year when I move to stx will give me more now and will be cheaper, but is it good enough to be competitive in STX ?

still looking for comments on springs/shocks/camberplates vs coilovers

I don't have any specifically related to minis, but in general coilovers are key for corner balancing & ride height. if there's not much need there, I don't see too much point. I run spring & strut on the mini, coilovers on the evo

I am running a R53 JCW in STX and my plan of attack is currently Koni Yellow's, Swift Spec R's, and either Vorshlag or SPC camber plates. After dropping to 15" wheels, not sure how much more room I have under the car. I looked into coilovers (BC w. Swifts) and I never really thought I would need the benefits of the coilovers.
