Radiator fan won't shut off
Ok I'm stumped. The Bentley service manual, aka the P.O.S., hasn't been able to help me with this issue:
When the engine is running and only when the engine is running, no matter the coolant temp, the radiator fan is 'stuck' in high speed mode. Bad module in the fan shroud? ECU took a dump? I swapped relays, that's not the problem The only coolant fan related item I can think of is my A/C pressure line sensor is disconnected. That sensor however, only triggers the fan on if there's above 8bar [for low fan speed] and above 18bar [for high fan speed] of a/c line pressure. I'm assuming that sensor sends a high signal in correlation with pressure. Any ideas would be appreciated, Ryan |
I figured it out. Everyone keep their a/c pressure sensor plugged in!

That gives me an idea to control the fan at will... say waiting for my turn at the drags.

Ryephile,
I had the same problem, I've enclosed pictures of the item at fault, problem is you'll need a new fan assembly:impatient http://img.photobucket.com/albums/08...hamxx/rad2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/08...hamxx/Rad1.jpg This part can't be seen until you take the fan out as it's hidden behind some plastic moulding Graham |
