You need to remove the entire small piece of black plastic trim in which they are mounted. Do this by removing the 2 screws that hold it into place. Then you have to pop it out from the body. It has little tabs that hold it in.

Once that piece is out, the light fixture is removed by 2 little nuts. These nuts create threads on the plastic posts on the light.

I just did this with my wife's Cooper on the front. Took about 10 minutes a side. Popping the trim piece back in just takes some fiddling around to get it right.

1) remove tire from the side your working on.2) remove a few of the plastic fasteners closest to the lens, pull the wheel well liner out some to access the back of the lens.

that's all I know, had to this to change out a light bulb once.

There might only be two nuts holding that lens in place, check it out once you pull the liner out a bit so you can see.

If you just have to change the light bulb, do what sfjames2 suggested since putting the trim piece back into the body/bumper can be a bit of a pain. If you have small enough hands and don't mind working in a cramped space, you can omit removing the tire. . .

-take the tire off on the according side
-4 plastic screw/rivets, 2 10mm plastic nuts towrads the top of the inner wheel housing, and one regualr screw under the side trim and the whole inner wheel housing comes off( but on the rear corner needs to come off to get to the light)
-to change the bulb just twist the socket out of the lence adn replace the bulb
_ to change the whole lence assembly there are 2 10mm self threading nuts on the back of the lence take those off and replace the lence
