MAP controlled Thermostat coding possible to run cooler running temps?

I just subscribed to this forum as this has so much information about almost everything MINI related. I am also a member at Mini2.com.
I have a 2011 Clubman cooper S with the N18 engine. These (as other) have a electronic thermostat controlled by the ECU/DME keeping it at 102-105C or 215-220F. Which is quite hot, but as designed. I also read that this is because of emissions.
For the oil it is actually a bit too hot. And one of several reasons why these cars are known for the oil consumption among other reasons.

What I'm trying to figure out is the following. I read here an there that when sport mode is active the coolant temp should drop to around 90-95C or 195-203F. Even some JCW's are programmed to run at these temps as standard apparently.
My car keeps the temp at 102c constant. So it is working as designed and all good. But do some of the models have this option and some don't?

I want it to run cooler as it's better for the oil and motor in general. A known mini tuner in my country (minispeed) offers a stock remap but with the temp control wind down to 90-95C as standard. So I figured that's this is a programmable setting in de DME/ECU.
Anyone know how to do this with OBD scanners and a app that works with it? I could pay him 100 euro's but if I can do it also, that would be awesome.

Having trouble finding any information about this. Maybe someone here knows more about this topic

From my research, seems like the cooler temperature in "Sport" mode are only on some models, but I can't quite figure out which ones...

That being said, yes they can be reprogrammed to run cooler. This is usually the first step when getting a custom ECU tune. I don't know of any plug-in tuners that only change the thermostat controls. If all you want is a temperature change, see if your local tuner will do just that?

Yes, that's what they offer. A remap that will only effect thermostat workings. Don't want to tune the engine for more HP. It's fine the way it is. But I want to do the temp change anyway, but maybe someones knows how to do this without going to a tuner to do this.
These days so much is possible with OBD

I had a few R56's, including N14 JCW and N18 GP2. Out of all the ones I had the only one that had the thermostat permanently set to 85 was the GP2. All the others were set to 105 and would only drop to 85 when driving aggressively, full throttle etc.

That's interesting. So it seems GP2's are set to run cooler as standard and also under normal driving conditions.
