R53 - Gets stuck in reverse

Hello all, as the title states my mini loves getting stuck in reverse. The clutch was replaced two years ago and only has 25,000km on it.

My car shifts through the gears no problem, but when it comes to backing up, the odd time it gets stuck between reverse and neutral, and the only way of getting it out is to lightly pull towards 1st.

It goes into reverse fine, but it just gets stuck sometimes.

Does anyone have an idea of what could be causing this?

Thank you, Happy spring!

When did you last change the oil in the trans? Might not be the problem but needs done about 60k miles. Linkage might need lubed.

Lubed up the linkage with Krown Rust Inhibitor and White Lithium Grease and the gears feel nicer. Still get stuck in reverse 90% of the time but I've gotten so good at getting it unstuck it doesn't even matter ;p

And the shifter cable rubber ends were in good condition? We had to replace one cable on my son's R50 after the rubber bushing wore out on the transmission end of the cable and the cable broke free of the shifter linkage. It was getting a little harder to shift before it popped off.
There are also some nylon(?) bushings in the shifter mechanism on the transmission that can wear out.
