Dash won't turn off
 

Just trying to revive a 06 MCS that was bought with a blown motor. Some parts were removed from the interior. The engine has been replaced but the dash won't turn off with the key. In fact when the engine started, the key was removed and the engine stayed running. Had to pull the battery terminal to shut off the engine.

Any ideas where to start?

Start with some switch cleaner in the ignition switch.........

We got the lights to tuen off by removing the BCM and reinstalling it.

now the scanner won’t connext to the DME.

only thing found is fuse 5 has no power

Alright. Figured this out.
The engine is a 2005 engine and harness. Caused the dash lights to stay on, engine would only idle ( barely) and would not shut off when key was pulled out.

Installed a 2006 harness onto the engine and everything works as advertised.
