Driver's headlight out
Driver's side headlight went out and can't find the problem! First tried a new bulb, then checked fuses behind passenger side panel, even swapped them around, cleaned the connector, still no joy! I've now confirmed that there is no power at the connector so unsure of where to look next. Is there a relay between the fuses and the light? Any ideas? |
On my 2010 the drivers side headlight (low beam) quit working.I replaced the bulb with no success. The problem turned out to be a slightly melted connector which prevented the connector from making a good contact with the bulb. When I wiggled the connector the light would come on. I gently removed the melted material with an xacto knife and the problem went away. Still working after 18mos.

I figured out my headlight out problem but the solution isn't going to be much help to others unless they have aftermarket projector headlights. The problem was a shorted diode in the aftermarket harness.
On a side note, I have found a set of LED bulbs that work well in a projector application. As many likely know, the problem with trying to use LED bulbs in either reflector or projector applications not designed for LED is that they don't mimic the light source of an incandescent bulb therefore the lighting output is generally poor and often blinding for oncoming drivers. These bulbs seem to have really addressed the issue. |
