Rear Collision, Won't Start, Help PLS

Hey NAM,

I was in a rear end collision with my 03 mcs a couple weeks ago. They titled it totaled, but I kept it anyways because it's far from it. It needs a rear bumper and tailgate, that's it for cosmetics.
But the problem I've had since I turned it off after the collision, is that it will not start. With ignition attempting to start, it only clicks over again and again, with the interior lights blinking with each click. And the only light that stays on is the airbag.
I checked the Battery Safety Terminal and it was blown. So I reinserted it with cardboard wedges to hold in place. I've also replaced the 200A Mega Fuse inside the orange and black fuse box that sits aside of the battery.
I checked the codes and the first read was P0500 'vehicle speed sensor"? and then P1613 'asc'?

I've seen some owners use a 3.3 ohm resistor on the yellow bst sensor. I don't think I need to try this, since their minis were running, but with airbag and other lights lit up on the dash.

Are there other sensors that may be the culprit?
Should I try the ohm solution?

Thank you

So sorry to hear :(...ugh

I worry about the same thing all the time. I'm not sure how to resolve. Maybe the accident did something to the ECU and needs to be reset at a Mini dealership.

Most times ...that is the best bet.

I hope you are able to get your Mini back on the road.

Good Luck !!!!!!

At the battery box there is a block with a few fuses in it. One is designed to blow in a collision. You many need to buy a new box, if it is destroyed. This happens when the air bags blow.

Thanks guys,

I only saw the one box, that's black and orange with 1 mega fuse. I'll take another look for another.

Depending on your month of production you may have a dedicated inertia switch in the engine bay - worth verifying anyway.

Ok great, I believe it's October. But I'll have to look into this inertia switch.
