Rear brake caliper piston won't screw in - help

Like the title says, the piston on both right and left rear calipers will not screw in. i've tried clamping and twisting with channel locks, as well as the cube type brake tool and the full on brake kit from the auto store (similar to what you can buy at HF - it pushes and twists at the same time). can the calipers be damaged? is there some other trick? i'm at the end of a clutch/flywheel, water pump, water pump pipe, and brake job and this is what's holding me up! frustrated!

Also, the boots on both rear calipers have partially slipped out of the housing. can these bu pushed back in? is it difficult? thanks

Not sure which MINI you're driving but for comparison, my Jaguar brake pistons screw in one way on the right-hand side of the car and the opposite direction on the left-hand side of the car (is your brake reservoir cap off?). Have you tried both directions? You can get a brake installation kit at O'Reilly's for just a returnable deposit.

Hi,
Both rear brake pistons retract by turning them clockwise. Here is a link to help you sort it out. I've had similar problems with retracting my rear brake pistons and this thread really helped.
