Engine buzzing briefly in low RPMs (cold)

Hi. My engine has developed the habit to buzz for 2-3 seconds in 1st gear after driving off from home during cold mornings. I typically start the engine and let it idle for 1-2 min while I pack my stuff, buckle up, get organized, etc. For whatever it’s worth, I do park on an inclined driveway (sideways) and when I drive off around 2-3k RPM the buzzing appears. Then it seems to go away after that single episode.

It doesn’t not sound like timing chain as per user videos. No knocking , just a vibration/buzz very briefly. Oil seems to be OK (although checking oil in these cars is taking a leap of faith...still not convinced about Cravenspeed dipstick after buying one.). Maybe something to do with incline parking overnight and oil flow?

Any. ideas would be appreciated

Last time I had this problem it was a loose heat shield. This was on a different car though.

I had a similar problem with a buzz at 3K when cold that occurred only the first shift, but not every day. I replaced the timing chain tensioner and that fixed it.

What your hearing is most likely a loose heat shield rattling due to galvanic corrosion that occurs when two different metals are in contact over a period of time. the rattling you describe is common on R60 Countrymans. You can either replave the rattling heat shield or insert washers under the nut where corrosion has occurred to tigtehn up the heat shield against the body. That should resolve the rattling.
