Emergency Brake

So I'm having an issue, I replaced my back calipers, rotors and pads. Found out that my left e brake cable was bad so I left it off of the caliper. But my right Cable seems fine but I do not have a e brake now, it's not engaging it moves up and down fine connected to the cable. Any help would be very appreciated. I'm at a loss

I believe that the parking (emergency) brake cable is a loop that runs from one side, around the handle, and back to the other side, so if you disconnect one side you have no braking on the other.
