Air bag warning in cold weather

I have a 13 Cooper S. I live in the north east so of course dealing with winter and cold temps. If the car sits overnight in cold weather (seems to be 40F or below) in the morning I have an air bag warning light and the seat belt light. Once the car is driven for 15-45min the warning will go off. I am guessing one of the sensors is a bit unhappy with being cold. I have only had the car for two winter seasons and has done it during both. The rest of the year i get no warnings. It hasn't been addressed before in any service history as the car is originally from Florida so i would think this wouldn't have been an issue.

Just hoping there is a known fix. Any info is appreciated.

Sounds like its a weak batter. In most modern cars when the battery starts going weird stuff starts to happen.

^ this. Is it the original battery?

I will have to check but i would think this is likely the factory battery. The car was at 36k miles when i purchased it. If so not a bad idea to replace it at this point regardless. Thanks for the input!
