Overheating Nightmare!

Hello

My 2011 Clubman with 70K miles has been overheating for a while. The valve cover, cooling fan, thermostat, and the head gaskets have already been replaced in several instances. Now the MINI Service Center diagnosed that it is the Cylinder Head Cover is at fault. I was told before that replacing the cover may costs around $10K. I was also told that remachining the cover will solve the issue once for all.. Is this worth repairing? Is this part available in a junkyard? Is there any online catalog that I can check for this part?

I would love to keep it, but this situation has been draining my wallet. I have considered selliing the car, but no one would buy it with this issue.

Please Advise.

Thanks!

Do you mean they said machine the cylinder head? The head should be checked to see if it needs machining any time you pull the head. If they put a new head gasket on with out planing (machining) the head or checking that it was in specks thats their problem. The shops I worked for if we were going to change a head gasket we almost always had it planed. We always told the costumer it may need to be done.
Is antifreeze and oil mixing? Or are you losing antifreeze? Lastly are they sure there is no air left in the system?

take it to another shop...DONT go to the dealer.

what prompted the issue, how did this whole thing started?

where are you located?

Hello

Thanks for the responses.
I noticed the issue when I found the empty coolant reservoir. In the previous job, they machned the cover back to specs.
For sure, if the Protective Extended Warranty does not cover it. I will have the car repaired somewhere else. I am located in PR.

Update

The Service Advisor called me to inform that their diagnostics shown a warped Cylinder Head and may need to be replaced.
Is this repair worth doing?

Please Advise.

I would say no. If you plan on keeping the car, maybe get a used engine put in. It would be cheaper than $10k, i hope.

I've not used them but sneed4speed has what I feel is good pricing on remanufactured heads.
