Check Engine Light won't clear
 

Got a code for a misfire in my cylinder 2, so I threw some new spark plugs in that bad boy and the issues I was having went out the window. However, I can't clear the check engine light to see if that actually solved the problem. Is that my cue to try something else or is there some other way than the obd sensor I have.

I have an R53 and use a BMW specific scanner, sometimes I have to go out of BMW mode and just use the ODB11 software to clear some codes, or it could be in reverse for you, what type of scanner are you using?

My $15 ebay scanner wouldn't work on my '08 MCS, so I bought a $50 actron that cleared the CEL on the speedo, but wouldn't read the code for the half-full yellow engine one on the tach (but if I hit clear several times on several different lines it would eventually clear the light). I finally bucked up and bought a Foxwell NT510 and it reads and resets all of my codes and service intervals. Long story short, it depends on what scanner you have.

If you want to keep your Mini for at least 2 or more years, I suggest you buy the Foxwell scanner. It can test for numerous things in your car (it can even test your steering wheel controls).
It's pricey but it can clear codes and it gives you more details of what the error codes mean (you can even save the results on a Micro-SD card).

I have an engine light on my 2012 Cooper S with 7 codes:

P0302
P0304
P0300 p/d
P0301 p/d
P0302 p/d
P0304 p/d

Not sure why it is misfiring. I was driving low on fuel, still had about 15 miles more per the indicator. Could that be the cause?
I used an Actron CP9125 to scan but it is unable to erase the codes. Is there a good bluetooth OBD-2 scanner that I can use with an iOS app (torque etc.) to erase the codes and get rid of the engine light. Will it go away on it's own in some time? If yes, then how long?

I have a Veepeak adapter, but it's blue like many of the other different brands for sale all over ebay, etc. They probably just changed the look of it so they can sell it for more. If you search OBD2 bluetooth on Aliexpress, you can find them for $3 shipped. I buy stuff from there all the time and it's always been good.
I use mine with Torque and it clears codes and shuts off the engine light on my R56. I don't know about those specific codes you have though.

I just bought this one on Amazon. At first, I was frustrated by it. No dedicated apps and it wasn't working well with my iphone. I then read some instructions and carefully took the steps described to make it work. Two key mistakes that I made was to try to bluetooth pair the VeePeak to my iPhone first. Not supposed to do that. IF you have tried, you have to reboot your phone and unplug the scan tool. Plug it back in, restart the phone and use one of the suggested APPS to make the scanner function for you. I used two and this brings me to my 2nd mistake. Inside the app, you have to adjust the settings to use the Veepeak. I tried the free app called Auto Doctor, clicked on EXTRAS then set the ADAPTER to VeePeak and set the CONNECTION to bluetooth. Worked like a charm. I also use Dash Command and, once I adjust the settings for the VeePeak (Selected the ELM option), it also began working.

Now I'm happy with it!
