Clutch problem please help!

i have a 2007 Mini Cooper s 121000
Today i was changing my fuel filter all went well. Car started right up i was letting it idle.
I go to put the car in gear and the clutch pedal was very tight. So i press harder and i hear a snap. The plastic piece that connects the pedal to the master cylinder broke.
I can’t find a part number for this? Anyone have it?
and is it as easy as just putting the new plastic piece in?

edit: just to verify not the plastic eyelet on the master cylinder just the plastic pin that goes through it

i don’t believe it’s any other issue because The was was driving fine right before i changed the fuel filter.
any help is approciated

I saw this piece but I’m not 100% sure i found a few little pieces on my floor mat and it’s black not white but it looks like it could be

I believe this is the correct part. Thank you for the quick response
im just worried if this piece broke what else could be wrong 🤷🏻*♂️ It looks pretty straight forward just pop the new piece in?
this car has been nothing but headaches so far

I changed the pin that broke but my clutch pedal and break pedal are super tight any ideas?

Try lubing up the bracket. But if theyre binding and causing you to break the pin i have a feeling its a more in depth problem then just not having grease

yeah i agree i just don’t know what i can’t even push the clutch in to start the car. It wasn’t a issue that grew that i just ignored it happened instantly. There was no grinding popping or skipping gears no hard or soft pedal nothing

Sounds like a master or slave cylinder problem or a throwout bearing issue is causing hydraulic lock. I would bet on the latter unfortunately.

Throw out bearing wouldnt affect the brake pedal though. If it was just the clutch i would agree with the throwout bearing or the master cylinder but if the brake pedal is stiff as well it has to be something to do with the bracket or pedals

A throw out bearing would just go out? No warnings? I mean i literally drove the car no issues parked it changed the fuel filter than the clutch pedal was tight turned the car off and now this

Iv had a throwout bearing let go at a stop light on me before so yes it can just go out but not usually.

Good news! I'm glad Murphy's Law did not apply in your situation.
