'07 PCV Upstream ?

Is this much condensation normal? Believe my engine is on its way out, but can't nail it down with my experience. I've also noticed oil pooling on top of cylinders 3 & 4. This is to my catchcan, and yes, I need to use different hose. ;)https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.nor...298b83ed03.jpg

Yes. Thinking from the crossover pipe since the third thermostat replacement, but have been questioning that too.

Can anyone tell me where my compression should be? I'm pulling 140 to 190 wet .

jcwcoopster 04-14-2018 04:36 PM

My My My that is not normal!!! Might be time for that engine overhaul. If compression is good then you might just need head work only.

BigBoost 04-14-2018 07:46 PM

kind of looking like coolant is getting in there !!

Tripped limp-in with a knock sensor at 70 while passing. AFR peaking at 29.4 and generally at 14.74... Shop time, me thinks .

29.4 dang your lucky it didn’t go boom !

A leak from the crossover tube wont cause knock codes but a head gasket starting to fail can cause coolant loss (burned during cruise) and cross pressurization (in boost) leading to lean AFR's. A bad valve cover allowing oil into the intake track will cause knock. How many miles on the engine? Has the valve cover been replaced? How long ago.

Crossover isn't leaking. The valve cover was replaced a little over a year ago. I switched the OCC from the downstream side to upstream as it didn't catch anything in the six months it was on that side. Two months on the upstream side and it's 75% full.

Well damn. Sounds like it might be about time to roll up the sleeves. The good news if you do most of the work yourself is that a cylinder head shop will probably only charge you about $350 to replace the seals and do a valve job. Had a head done for a friend not to long ago and thats all they charged. YMMV though.
