High idle

I just bought a 2003 Mini and it drives great but when I'm sitting at stop in traffic , it idles at 1400-1600 rpms. Is this normal? Could this be adjusted?

Your idle should be 900 RPM with a warm engine. Your car may have a bad sensor or something like that. I'm sure the idle can be adjusted, but likely there's a code error in the ECU. Take it to a trusted MINI mechanic and they should be able to knock this out without much fuss.
