Radiator failure 2014
The radiator on my 2014 clubman sprung a leak this week. The car has 65,000 miles on it. Yes, I was very disappointed. Local shop charged $1000.00 to replace it. They said the leak was a result of corrosion, which they were kind enough to show me. They tested my antifreeze, and said it was not acidic.
I think this failure was a result of planned obsolescence. Has anyone else had his issue? Did you fix it yourself? If a shop did the repair, can you tell me what it cost for the work? Thank you. |
never heard of such issue with radiators.
I do all of my repairs including engine and transmission swaps or repairs. 1000 is a bit too much. https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/r...-parts/Hgg0Jbw |
Thank you, MiniToBe. Sure wish I had that information earlier. I have done some of my own repairs. I thought this would have been a bit much for me. In hindsight, I could have probably done it.
No doubt I have to find a new repair shop. Probably best to stay away from any business that has the word "Elite" in its title. I, no doubt, was taken for a ride. Thanks again. |
I couldn't agree more...I have a friend who had a mini and went to such mechanic and told him he needed a new engine for a "spun bearing". Well, it was the serpentine belt!
Always attempt the repair yourself. worst case scenario, you tow the car to a shop and have them finish it up. let's say you paid extra for the "warranty" of their work. |
LOL. It must be one heck of a warranty.::)
