Hood (bonnet) won't latch
 

Okay gang, I'm having an issue opposite to most with my '09 Clubman. I popped the hood the other day to do some work and now it will not latch again. I checked and the cable is moving back and forth both at the release handle and at both latches. I tried to get it to latch on a 90 degree screwdriver and it would not latch on that either. Hoping there is something small I'm not thinking of.

Going to move you to the Gen2 Stock Problems/Issues area, should get some better views.

I checked everything possible and it appears that both hood locks are shot. I removed them and still could not get them to lock. One was probably dead for a while and was never apparent until the second one failed. I have a new set on the way.

Thanks for the update, yep replace them in sets and then hit them once a year with grease, i do the same thing. This will prevent them rusting and locking up. The front of the car gets beat with road salt from the winters.
