HELP!! Replaced clutch 2000 miles ago now car won't move
Hello to anyone who sees this. I have a 2004 Mini Cooper that just had its clutch replaced 2000 miles ago. The other day I was taking off from a stop let the clutch out pushed the clutch in and shifted to second gear but nothing happened . The linkages are working properly because i looked at them and had replaced the cables when I replaced the clutch. Now the car can be in gear and it acts like it's still in neutral . ANY IDEAS???!! |

Would that still be the case if I have a limited slip diff?
|
If either of the axles aren't properly locked into the diff or bolted in you can/will lose drive ability. The passenger axle bolts to the engine block with 3 13mm bolts and the drivers side axle is retained in the differential carrier by a circlip, if either of those retention methods are compromised you will have issues.
Are you able to shift between gears with the car running and not grind gears? |
Its always good to have a vendor like Detroit Tuned that not only sells MINI parts, but fixes MINIs.

Wish they would have followed up on this thread. I just replaced the clutch with a Valeo unit and now the car wont move.
