PSB Control arm bushing replacement

My mini needs to replace control arm bushings so currently i've purchased PSB Bushings from ebay. today I went to the mini specialist and they quoted me $300 for labor because they have to lower the subframe. is that true?
I told them i don't think you have to lower the subframe but they said it's not an accurate job.

Having done the job myself, the only way to remove the rear control arm bushing mount bolts is to remove the subframe. Maybe their is a special tool that will let you press them out in place, but I don’t have that so out it came. It’s really not that difficult or heavy.

Per Bentley the bushing can be replaced by lowering the subframe. It is not an easy job if you don't have the needed tools or know how to improvise. I would say $300 is not unreasonable.

modmini has a video on this. He used a sawzall to cut them out and didnt lower the frame. If you're touching the subframe, I'd also figure on adding an alignment cost.

$300 is actually cheap for install on them as it does take some work.

I hope you got the powerflex bushings as their quality is the highest out of all the poly bushings and have a lifetime warranty so you don't have to do the job a second time.

Also we always replace the front sway bar bushings

Inner ball joints are easy to do at the same time too

And a great time to do the steering rack bushing too
